Another option is a simple, all-natural, DIY toothpaste consisting of only 2 ingredients.

Coconut oil is naturally:

  • antibacterial
  • antimicrobial
  • antifungal

Studies have shown that coconut oils destroy bacteria that cause tooth decay and periodontal disease.

Baking soda aids in:

  • Cleaning
  • Whitening
  • Restoration of PH balance

Directions

2 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp baking soda

Combine ingredients to make a paste. Use a small amount of “paste” on your toothbrush.  Use as you normally would in your oral hygiene routine. Brush in quadrants at an angle on the tooth and gumline. Spit out excess and do not rinse and remember to floss.

Keep in mind: paste will melt in the mouth or hands but solidify in cool temperatures.
